The word permaculture originally referred to "permanent agriculture" but was expanded to stand also for "permanent culture," as it was seen that social aspects were integral to a truly sustainable system.

Project: "Permaculture in Val Gardena 1200-1600 m above sealevel"

The 7 participants of the project are spread in the valley; we take part of the project ourselfs.

In almost 1600 m above sealevel it is a special challenge to bring forward this project. With the help of old and new knowledge of the permaculture we already had a lot of pleasure and homegrown food to share.
With this project we would also like to give our guests an impulse to an alternative, calm and natural holiday...back to the roots.
It`s our big wish to spread the idea of permaculture and help to bring confidence and light to the earth and to the people.

Core Tenets

Care for the earth: provision for all life systems to continue and multiply. This is the first principle, because without a healthy earth, humans cannot flourish.

Care for the people: provision for people to access the resources necessary for their existence.

Return of surplus: reinvesting surpluses back into the system to provide for the first two ethics. This includes returning waste back into the system to recycle into usefulness.

Our vision

is the conservation and gradually optimisation to produce a self regulating system. This system should need minimal intervention to remain in a stabil and dynamic balance. The satisfaction of short-therm needs should have an equal value as the satisfaction of succesive generations needs. Our teacher is mother nature with her self regulating proceedings in the ecological system like in woods, meadows and ponds.
